Can You Get A CDL With A Felony Conviction?

Can you get a CDL if you are a felon is a common question. The answer is yes in most instances but can very from state to state. If your felony involved using a commercial vehicle in anyway then you would either not be allowed to have a  CDL or will have a waiting period until you would be allowed to have your CDL. If you have a felony conviction that is not related to a commercial vehicle then you should not have any issues when obtaining your CDL.

Another issue that may arise from having a felony is finding a trucking company that will hire you. Surprisingly there is a large number of trucking companies that will hire a convicted felon. The nature of the felony, number of convictions and time pasted since conviction can all play a part in if a trucking company will hire you.
