What is a dedicated route truck driver?
You may be wondering what a dedicated route truck driver is and I have the answer for you.
There are many types of truck driving operations in the United States including dedicated, regional and Over The Road (OTR). A dedicated route is when a trucking company services the same company or location regularly.
More often than not a truck driver will pick up a load at a regular location and then deliver it to to a dedicated customer. An example of a dedicated rout would be that you pick up at Whole Foods Distributor in Dallas, TX and then deliver to Whole Foods grocery store in San Antonio, TX. You would then pick up a back haul back to Dallas, TX and then repeat the trip. Most dedicated routes offer more home time than Over The Road trucking companies.
